Silverleaf Resorts complaint
We have been scammed by Silverleaf Resorts as well. We purchased one of the sampler vacations. We've requested a refund. All they have been telling us is that they will honor the week vacation that we have paid for.

I called their Corporate office today. At 5:03 I was told everyone was gone for the day. I told the representative that I was not an idiot and there's no way that she was the only person left in the building. A few minutes a later a supervisor came on the phone. I requested that she direct me to the portion of the contract that stated no refund of deposit or moneys applied. No where does it state that.

The legal department is supposed to be calling me tomorrow. Maybe I can get some resolution with them tomorrow. If not I guess I will take the week vacation and for a portion of each day I will sit in the waiting room and warn everyone I can of the scam that Silverleaf Resort really and truly is.

Maybe I won't get my $1,000 deposit back but I will force them to spend much more than that to get customers that I have just scared away. I will be sure to direct them all to this website as well.

I will inform them exactly the type of organization that Silverleaf Resort is.

Timeshare is flat on it's butt never to be revived again.

The timeshare companies will do and say anything to get the next deal as they put it. They could care less about you after you sign the contract. All they care about is the money.

The slime of timeshare still exist as I write this they are trying to reinvent themselves by changeing their presence to be refered as Vacation Clubs. Same product under another name.

Beware and stay away from the timeshare industry. There are no winners and thousands of losers trying to dump their timeshares.

Maintence and taxes are going sky high and you can also be hit with special assessments which occure due to mismanagement of funds by the timeshare industry.

I sold timeshare for 1 year and had the pleasure of seeing first hand the sales tactics this industry uses. I have so much information that the public would shake in their shoes if they only knew how the timeshare industry operates and what they think of you as a consumer.

And the State officials constantly turn their back to how the timeshare industry operates because of the tax base it provides.

We have just returned from one week

at Fox River.

At three a.m. this morning I was awakened by an inconsiderate family in the apartment above us. We packed up and left. The weekend we arrived it was about the same thing. There was a family with children with pogo sticks, which they were using. It was extremely annoying. We are a retired couple. We have raised our children and choose this time slot for the mere fact that we assumed children would be in school and we could enjoy a peaceful vacation.

Were you scammed when you went to the presentation and won a prize? I am about to do this. You can win car, cash or an “exotic island adventure”. I figure since they are a timeshare company, everyone will win the vacation. I called the awards verification (866-804-8590) center today (10/14/2008) and spoke to Dedra at 2:29PM. She said the vacation was a Beachfront Resort in Hawaii, Jamaica, Aruba, or Puerto Rico. I asked what my out of pocket costs were going to be and she stated just air fare. To be sure she asked her manager who confirmed that everything was included even three meals a day and only air fare would be my out of pocket.. Then, I called the confirmation center (800-720-5621) and spoke to Samuel at 2:39PM. He stated that the tour would only last 1 and ½ hours. Mine begins at 2:00PM and by 3:30PM, “I would have my prize in hand and will be leaving”. I will let you know what happens.

The way that we were scammed is their salesperson said that we would be able to get our money back. The contract states that you can't cancel and you must fulfill the contractual obligations. When we pursued getting our money back they simply said that we couldn't get it back. When you read a contract and it doesn't state that you can't get your money back and the sleezy salesman states that you can. It's not written that you can't you feel pretty confident that this is an upstanding organization that you can trust. Well we were very wrong.
