I HAVE BEEN AN OWNER WITHIN SILVERLEAF RESORTS SINCE 1999. MY WIFE AND I SPENT ALOT OF MONEY TO OWN A TIMESHARE, AND WE FEEL THAT SILVERLEAF DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR OWNERS.

FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING TO THEM ABOUT THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO WI-FI IN THE ROOMS. AT OAK 'N SPRUCE ONE CAN ONLY GET ON THE INTERNET IN A NOISY COFFEE SHOP/ARCADE WHERE ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE ABLE TO THINK. ITS THE 21ST CENTURY, AND EVERY PLACE EXCEPT SILVERLEAF RESORTS HAS WI-FI IN THE ACCOMODATIONS.

WHEN WE BOUGHT, THEY PROMISED US THAT THERE WOULD BE HORSEBACK RIDING AND IT NEVER HAPPENED. THEY ALSO PROMISED US THAT THEY WERE BUILDING A FINE RESTAURANT OVER THE INDOOR POOL. THAT NEVER HAPPENED EITHER.

WHEN WE BOUGHT, IT WAS VERY NICE FOR THE KIDS, BUT SINCE THEY'VE GROWN UP, THERE IS NOTHING THERE FOR ADULTS TO DO EXCEPT SWIM. WHY CANT THE POWERS THAT BE AT SILVERLEAF TRY TO INCLUDE SOME ADULT ACTIVITIES, BUILD A RESTAURANT ON THE PREMISES, ETC?

BEING A SENIOR CITIZEN NOW, I FIND IT OBNOXIOUS THAT WHEN I WANT TO BRING MY PET TO THE RESORT, THEY REQUIRE ME TO PAY $100. HOW DISGUSTING! FIRST OF ALL, BEING ON SOCIAL SECURITY, I CAN'T AFFORD IT. BUT THATS NOT THE POINT. IT'S JUST UNFAIR TO TAKE OUR MONEY SO OUR PUPPY CAN SIT IN THE ROOM WITH US. THEY DON'T EVEN OFF TO REFUND IT AFTER THE STAY, CONFIRMING THAT THERE ISN'T ANY DAMAGE.

SINCE THE NEW OWNER TOOK OVER THE BUSINESS, ALL HE WANT'S TO DO IS TAKE OUR MONEY AND DO NOTHING FOR THE OWNERS TO MAKE OUR STAY BETTER.

I FEEL THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT MY TIMESHARE IN 1999 IF I HAD KNOWN THIS BEFORE.

AFTER ALL THE YEARS OF COMPLAINING ABOUT THESE THINGS, AND THEM DOING NOTHING ABOUT ANYTHING, I FEEL SILVERLEAF OWES US QUITE A BIT.

THEN THEY HAVE TO ORDACITY TO CALL US EVERY 3 WEEKS TO SET UP A MEMBERS MEETING TO TRY TO UPGRADE OR TIMESHARE, BUT THEY'LL NEVER ALLOW US TO STAY IN ONE OF THE "BETTER" ROOMS. WE'VE GONE TO MANY MEMBER MEETINGS, AND ALL THEY DO IS PROMISE YOU THINGS THAT NEVER HAPPEN. AT THE LAST MEETING WE WERE AT IN 2011, THEY PROMISED US THAT SILVERLEAF WAS OPENING RESORTS UP AND DOWN THE EAST COAST. THAT NEVER HAPPENED EITHER.

CORPORATE NEEDS TO ADDRESS THESE ISSUES, AND I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM THEM WITH SOME SOLUTION, OR THEY CAN BUY BACK MY UNIT AT TODAYS RATE.

My wife and I have been with Silverleaf since 1997. We started out with a 2BR/1BA cabin at Lake 'o the Wood with Endless Escapes for bonus time.

After a couple of years or so, we upgraded to a 2BR/2BA condo at Holly Lake.

(NOTE: Using our equity from our cabin, we got a 0% (zero percent) loan to upgrade to this condo...PLUS, we got ZERO maintenance fee.

After another couple of years, we upgraded to a 2BR/2BA lodge at Holiday Hills in Branson, Missouri...also, with ZERO maintenance fee!!

After another couple of years, we upgraded again to a Presidential Unit at Silverleaf's Seaside Resort in Galveston, Texas...NOTE: Also, with ZERO maintenance fees!!!

We have made several day trips to Silverleaf (The Villages or Holly Lake) for an owner's 'update' several times. We usually hold out for $100/$150 cash for the 'visit'. But, we stand firm on our ZERO MAINTENANCE FEE. We've turned down several attempts to sell us an extra week for Diamond privileges due to financial difficulties, some of which really made us sad because of the GREAT DEALS.

We've since bought a blue Presidential at Fox River, week 5.

While we couldn't get zero maintenance, we got $50... not bad. Our bonus time is Sun -Thu, free, and $50 for Fri/Sat. Through the years, we've mostly used our Endless Escape bonus time, though we have, on occasion, used our deeded week.

We've enjoyed our association with Silverleaf, but it has not been without hiccups. Basically, if you can't afford to buy, DON'T BUY.... no matter how appealing the incentive is. Silverleaf employees work on a commission basis....

the more property they sell, the more they get paid. No sale, NO PAY. CAVEAT EMPTOR (BUYER BEWARE). Don't blame them if you are convinced to buy.

Get EVERYTHING in writing. Take responsibility for YOUR actions.

You need to report this to the BBB...I don't understand how they have an A rating....

I would not recommend buying from this place...first of all going in you feel like your in a used car lot, you say no, then the next higher up salesman comes over to offer something different...you say no to them oh low and behold what do you know?? here comes another one...I felt pressured to buy something in order for my children and I to leave....not to mention that they say 90 min tour...we were there for about 5 hours...then my son ended up getting bit by a bed bug at the hotel they put us in and it led to a staff infection yes awesome!!

did any compensate me for anything? nope! oh wait yes we were offered a stay in the condo's for the weekend but in order to do so I had to set up a meeting "to go over what I purchased" 3 weeks prior...because evidently i'm dumb or forgot what I bought? So basically staying for the weekend without charge was contingent on attending this meeting...another ploy to get money...my name was called and my daughter overheard our initial tour guide say to the man who just announced my name "pfft she's not going to buy anything anyways..." RUDE!

and little did she know i bought something just not from her...anyways...so upon starting my "meeting to discuss what i bought" the man stated he wasn't sure why I was there since I had just been there and that he generally only spoke to people who have been paying for years...apparently I wasn't good enough to talk to him because I had yet to start paying for mine?? So he showed us the presidential suite condos...basically only area on grounds that you can get reception so in order to get phone reception you have to buy a deed at the presidential suite...so we go back and he's talking about getting us out of there because there was no need to discuss my "glorified pool pass" <---his words not mine...but i agree! He also stated that he's had buyers paying for years on their deeds and were never able to stay because he was surprised we were offered a weekend to stay...which is kind of bizarre considering upon my purchase of my "glorified pool pass" i was told when there is openings we will get invited to stay on the property...so yet another lie!

Next thing I know a woman comes over to try and get my to buy a deed....ummmm i'm sorry but if I wanted a deed I would have purchased one three weeks prior...I'm not sure about anyone else but I don't feel the need to discuss my funds or budget with everyone under that roof...money hungry is all they are...needless to say I tried to cancel after I walked out of that meeting, packed all our stuff and left the property...apparently i'm beyond my "6 day cancellation period" its funny how they didn't show their true colors until after this 6 day period passed...its okay I already filed a complaint with the better business bureau, I have a call into my lawyer and may possibly contact Lisa Madigan...I'm not continuing services with this awful business! Good luck to all don't fall into their trap!

Why in the world would you buy anything you did not want just to leave? I would have just gotten up and left.

You don't owe them anything. And you certainly should have looked into canceling the contract the minute you left instead of letting six days go by.
