My husband was approached by reps in the mall, and the way they presented it was that they were promoting area waterparks like Key Lime Cove, and we would pay $99 for a 2 night stay at Key Lime Cove, plus get a voucher for a bonus weekend. Too good to be true?

YES! The materials came and an associate called us to arrange for us to visit a very specific location over 2 hours away from our home, where we would be required to attend a "tour" (sales presentation for the timeshare) - THEN they would give us waterpark passes to enjoy our time there. Only a few weekend options available, otherwise we would have to go midweek - not an option for a teacher's family with grade-school aged kids. After that, they would supposedly send us vouchers for Key Lime Cove, for which we could make reservations at least 60 days in advance, during non-peak dates, and only for a family of 4 - an extra person was an additional charge of $40.

So....we tried calling them back to refund our $99, but all the listed numbers were dead-ends. Got a call from their associate a few days later so we could reserve our "tour" date. Talked to her about a refund; she passed me on to a manager. Talked to HER about a refund, and she was very pleasant, and passed me on to the refund department.

Refund associate was very matter-of-fact, asked me if I wanted it as a Visa gift card or back on the credit card; I chose the latter.

She took down the card number and exp date, etc (BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART - why didn't they already have this info??) And the next day, ANOTHER $99 was charged to our credit account!!

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Monetary Loss: $198.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Silverleaf Resorts Cons: Unauthorized charges.
