So I'm going to the Texas Renaissance Festival and there is a sign up for a chance to win a big trip, have a free stay at a water park and all you have to do is listen to their presentation. Well, we went for it and reserved a weekend in late November 15 to go back to the Ren Fest since it rained the last time we went and stay at the Piney Shores.

Let's start with that resort. We stayed in the only building that has studio rooms so one bed and a fold out couch. There was an immediate odor to the room. At least it looked fairly clean. The furnishings and linens were dated. WE HAD NO SOAP IN THE BATHROOM! The fold out couch was so old and worn that my 10 yr old basically fell through it and had to sleep around that part. We didn't even bother opening it the next evening. All night the alarm was going off for the front door. The phones would not work to call the front desk. I would have to use my mobile to call the main number to get to the front desk.

We decided to stop at the front desk and express my disdain for the accommodations and requested for at least soap to be in the room and I had little hope that maintenance would do anything about the couch. That's when we did the predictable timeshare presentation which was a manipulative torment and just the fact that I was already unnerved about the property helped steel my resolve.

By the time it was over we did some shopping and saw a movie in Conroe since it was raining and cold out, and returned back in the evening, we saw that WE STILL HAD NO SOAP! Well we need soap so I went back to the registration desk and a lady said she'll go and figure something out for me and disappeared in the back. I also complained about not being able to call the front desk and the clerk said that it's really busy up front so that's why i'm getting a busy signal. No one called the whole time I was there. So I'm waiting and waiting for a good 10-15 minutes and she returns with what I'm expecting to be some damned soap. She was surprised to see me and said that maintenance will be dropping it by later. I left defeated by this whole ordeal.

At least a good hour later a maintenance guy came by with 2 bars in a plastic bag.

Conclusion: This place isn't about customer service and no one is willing to take any responsibility. It's only about selling this pipe dream of a vacation that they'll never get. I won't even bother trying to get their Vacation Getaway for 2 nights at a *** motel that most likely will never materialize and if I do, I could have done it for the same price or less and stayed where I want to stay.

This place is a cancer.

I went to Piney shores as well for bonus time and both cabins were inadequate one had an odor and the other had mold in the shower and the tub was dirty, the phone didn't work and the front desk had an attitude. We left after one day instead of staying for three.
