Years ago my husband and I purchased a time share from Silverleaf Resort we got a good buy because my aunt and uncle also were owners and recommended us. We had alot of bonus time and our maintenance dues were cheap.

We paid it off on time, these payments were coming out of our bank account. When the Time share was paid off you still owed monthly maintenance fees and thought it was still being taken out of our account. It never was, long story short, silverleaf seized our time share for non payment. In which we couldn't pay at the time.

Meanwhile we also purchased another time share with Silverleaf under a Diamond owner. Which does us know good because we lost the other and have no time exceot once a year in November so we are out money for one and have another that we can not use.

Monetary Loss: $9800.

During the last 2 years they have been trying to do one thing and that is to shut us up and bankrupt us through the court system. We always felt that at the end of the day a jury would see that TAI is in the business to help people. If the timeshare industry would stop lying and sell their product honestly we would be out of business,” said Sean Austin.

“The jury’s verdict represents a victory for free speech and free enterprise, and against corporate bullying,” said Austin’s attorney, Greg Oakley of DHPM PC in a press release.

If you had this timeshare for some time and was paying on it over a period of time you knew you were also paying for the maintenance fee. Every year SL sends out to all the owners a bill for maintenance fees offering you to pay in full amount or monthly.

It seems like you just ignored the bill.

If you know your installment payment was paid off why didn't you check you bank account to see if the m/f was still being taken out. It seems you are the one at fault for not following up on your account.
