we were invited out to the hill country resort in canyon lake. our appt was @ 4 pm, but we were called and were urged ot be early so we arrived @ 3:30.

There were about 75 families waiting in the lobby when we arrived. we waited for 3 hours before we were seen. They paired us with courtney who was great at first but when we decided not to but she quickly got an attitude and even had some rude words for us in the parking lot. We did not leave the resore till 9 pm, we were passed from sales person to sales person and they would not take no for an answer.

This company should take more pride in it's sales reps.

Courtney made several racial remarks and was very rude after we did not purchase...something just deems really shady about this company. They broought out payment down from 8,000 to 3,000 total, they brought the down payment down from over 3,000 to $150.00, and the monthly payments went down from 470 to 110.00...questionable!

Yes, These people at Silver Leaf have an unscrupulous sales method, full of lies and deceit. I finally broke down and signed a contract they called a Pre-Paid Vacation Sampler package after I read the Cancellation Rights on the contract which gives the customer 6 days to Cancel.

I was passed from sales person to sales person almost 5 hours although I informed them over and over again that I wasn't going to buy anything without thinking about it for a couple weeks.

If I would not have finally broke down I probably would have been there another two or three hours. Writing a cancellation letter would be much easier, I did it the next morning and sent it Certified with signed delivery confirmation receipt.

Timeshare Advocacy International Wins Lawsuit against World’s Largest Resort.

In November of 2010 TAI was sued by the largest timeshare developer in the world for assisting timeshare owners out of their contracts with their resort. The charges ranged from violating the Tennessee Uniformed Secrets Act, Tennessee Consumer Rights Act, unauthorized practice of law, intentional interference with business relationships, civil conspiracy, breach of contract, unfair competition, procurement of breach of contract, and unjust enrichment. On July 19, 2012 it took a jury less than 45 minutes to deliberate and return a verdict of “Not Guilty” on all charges.

“We are excited to finally have this decision behind us so we can now focus on one thing, and that is our clients. During the last 2 years they have been trying to do one thing and that is to shut us up and bankrupt us through the court system. We always felt that at the end of the day a jury would see that TAI is in the business to help people. If the timeshare industry would stop lying and sell their product honestly we would be out of business,” said Sean Austin.

“The jury’s verdict represents a victory for free speech and free enterprise, and against corporate bullying,” said Austin’s attorney, Greg Oakley of DHPM PC in a press release.

Timeshare Advocacy International is headquartered in Mount Juliet, TN and currently has a staff of 19 that do nothing but consult, coach, and mentor timeshare owners who have been deceived during their purchase or upgrade of their timeshares. “We specialize in helping timeshare owners not only get out of their timeshare contracts if they were lied to, but we also help them understand what happened and how they were scammed so this hopefully will not happen again!

MARYLOU: They are removing e-mail adresses from this website, but I wanted to contact you. You think this website would offer a way for members to contact one another directly!

ANYWAY, you need to send a cancellation letter ASAP, very latest by TOMORROW! Send it Certified mail, return receipt requested, OVERNIGHT!!! READ the bottom of your contract! It says to send a cancellation letter to the "developer" at: Silverleaf Resorts, Inc., 1221 Riverbend Drive, Suite 120, Dallas, TX 75247. "MUST BE RECEIVED BY MIDNIGHT ON THE THIRD DAY, AFTER THE DATE OF SIGNING AND RECEIVING CONTRACT"!!! Include in the letter: Your name(whomever is on the contract), your address, Contract # (also found on bottom of contract you signed), date or purchase, UNauthorize any further payments from your bank/credit card and make it clear that you are rescinding (cancelling) this contract. It would be even greater if you had the letter notarized and make COPIES of EVERYTHING for your own records.

Also, bring all paperwork down to your bank (or send copies and call your credit card company)and inform them that any transactions with this company ( SILVERLEAF ) is UNAUTHORIZED, effective IMMEDIATELY! DO NOT lose your receipt from the post office, as this is your ONLY proof of having mailed it on said date, CERTIFIED MAIL!

Please let us know how it goes. Good luck! I'm in the SAME boat!
